The biggest downside is that the 1/4" collet is now not going to firmly hang a 1/4" bit--it bathroom toiletsens after a couple of minutes work and might result in errors in the work piece. The 1/2" collet appears to carry fine; I have now not used the 3/8" collet. Second, the dimensions on the depth measure are metric, which presents a conversion downside in the United States. Third, the lever that clings the plunge in location can free up if not firmly in situation. The plunge mechanism itself is a bit stiff however manageable. Finally, the instruction handbook is too temporary and cryptic; I would have favored one factor a chunk extra useful.

I purchased this router namely for use in a router table and to this point it's worked properly but simplest after a few issues had been resolved. The primary downside for my part is the twines small gauge and shortage of a 3rd wire for flooring. It has a three prong plug on a two wire twine ! The 24 gauge conductor is less than proper and have to be changed or is normally a hazard. To check this just put off the 2 screws that cling the swap cover and you are going to see the two wire wire.
After changing the cord with one with a floor wire and mounting it in my router table with a variable speed switch it has worked fairly smartly. It has no trouble with 1/2" raised panel bits. The quarter inch collet needs to be shimmed or knurled or it goes to not dangle the bit tight.
Bottom line I would buy this router again , I would just plan on replacing the 2 wire wire with an proper wire for the amperage. Remember floor - is an effective factor !

place the 1/4" collet to your bench vise and give it a little squeeze - similar for the 3/8" collet.
It tightens them right up with out affecting run-out , and they now hold the bits without any considerations.
