Reviews for General Tools 500 Cordless Ultra Tech Power Precision Screwdriver (Tools & Home Improvement) This thing actually got here to my door while i was once in the path of gutting 3 previous pcs for parts. What would have taken me at the least an hour and a half of to do took about 30 minutes. I like that its low torque for when i'm working on sensitive stuff like hard drives. I even have carpal tunnel, so my wrist is labored up now. There is a slight little bit of play within the shaft that I do not like, however rather than that, I am pleased.
Reviews for General Tools 500 Cordless Ultra Tech Power Precision Screwdriver (Tools & Home Improvement) About six 12 monthss in the past I discovered and acquired my first mini powered screwdriver, a model known as the "iGo." The iGo was once the same in idea as this Ultra Tech in that it was a perfect mini screwdriver, with small powerr bits (albeit the iGo bit aren't as small as the Ultra Tech). The iGo is powered by two AAA batteries.

Back then the iGo was the most effective miniature battery powered screwdriver in the marketplace (at least that I might find). There have been a lot of large AA battery powered drivers (that use 4 batteries), for instance Black & Decker's powerrs. But these are powerful screwdrivers meant for heavy responsibility jobs the kind ofs inserting wooden screws into hardwood.

In 2004, after I was once first getting to know and in search of a battery powered mini screwdriver, I wanted something for delicate, small jobs this sort ofs engaged on pcs or small electronic tools. (The Black & Decker kind powerrs are too giant, cumbersome and highly effective to work on small screws, plus those powered screwdrivers do not include bits small enough to fit into small screws.) What size screws am I talking about? Look to your netbook or notebook computer case, to see the screws I am talking about.

Enter the iGo powered screwdriver. Those have served me neatly all these years and I am still using the unique two I bought again then. (Actually, I sold 5 of them and gave two as presents. By the way, geeks love these powered mini screwdrivers. My pal gave one to her sister's new husband on their wedding reception, part of a box of gifts. Everyone at the reception was once asking to play with the screwdriver and he caught two of his visitors trying to "forget" they'd the driving force, through placing it within their pockets.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago after I made up our thoughtss to see if there have been any new powered miniature screwdrivers available on the market. A search yielded pay filth once I discovered this "General Ultra Tech Power Precision Screwdriver" (that's a mouthful however that is the reliable title of it).

I read the outline and was once impressed that this was clearly a better product than my iGo (even although the iGo used to be only $5 per driver and it has worked flawlessly). What I liked about this General Ultra Tech is that it comes with six screwdriver bits, together with two torx bits (T5 and T6 that normally match cellphones and small electronics). The bits case has two very small flathead and two small Phillips head bits.

The chuck that the bits match into are proprietary to the Ultra Tech bits.
Reviews for General Tools 500 Cordless Ultra Tech Power Precision Screwdriver (Tools & Home Improvement) I purchased the #500 a few weeks in the past and I use it all the time... Great for electronics/computers. The screwdriver has no problem taking the screws off the again of a pc (a nice tork ratio). I in level of fact like the control of the push and cling on/off switch and it fits in my hand very well.... I'm the use of it mainly for digitals but I see many utilitys...
